Hello, and welcome to Brave Greatness®.
I’m Charlie McClain—author, speaker, private coach, and yes, I have a day job too. As a former educator with two master’s degrees, I can’t stop learning. Approaching 60 (okay, in a couple of years), I’ve had more fresh starts than anyone I know. I’ve walked through seasons of joy and grief, success and failure. Each experience has shaped me, taught me, and led me here.
A few years ago, in a period of deep self-exploration, I coined the term Driven Woman Syndrome and wrote my thesis and then a book about it. Now, I’m writing another book called Brave Greatness, and I’m excited to share this journey with you.
I once started a podcast, hoping to spark real conversations about real issues facing fempreneurs. But over time, I became disenchanted. It seemed like promotion and profit were overshadowing authenticity in the interviews. I craved a space where genuine dialogue could flourish without the noise.
This space—this wonderful space—is a step away from all that. It’s a sanctuary for us, driven women ready to do the impossible: free ourselves from the notion that we need to have it all, be it all, and do it all for others to love, accept, and respect us. More importantly, it’s about letting go of the core belief that we need to please, perform, and perfect in order to love, accept, and respect ourselves.
Here, we’ll explore and discuss how we can redefine success and freedom on our own terms. We’ll delve into the pressures society places on us—and the ones we place on ourselves—and how to break free from them.
So let’s get into it. Let’s embark on this journey together, embracing the courage to be imperfect, the strength to be authentic, and the wisdom to know that our worth isn’t defined by how much we do for others but by how truly we live for ourselves.
Thank you for being here. I can’t wait to see where this path leads us.
With gratitude,
Charlie
